your first visit

What to expect on your first visit.

After calling our office to schedule an appointment it is best to visit this site and print out the intake forms from the Forms link in the menu. The two forms you need to prepare before coming to our office are:

1. “The Way to Optimal Health” form
2. “Policies and Procedures” form

Once arriving at our office make yourself at home and our friendly front staff will answer any questions for you! The doctor will see you shortly thereafter. If you come for the free 10minute consultation, the doctor will be happy to answer any questions you have with regards to your health and evaluate whether or not you are a good candidate for our care. If you are, we will schedule your first appointment for an examination.

Initial Examination
Since we are a truly holistic and natural medicine facility, we take great pride in a thorough history and examination. We truly get to know you and begin to know how your body functions so we know better how to help you. After all, everyone is different even if we have similar symptoms.
The initial exam may consist of any or all of the following and is case-dependent:

  • Posture and muscular imbalance analysis
  • Nutritional deficiencies or toxicities
  • Spinal subluxation and misalignment
  • Stress test utilizing biofeedback
  • Hormonal Salivary testing
  • Weight loss analysis utilizing the latest in neurotransmitter testing
  • Autonomic reflex testing
  • Acupuncture point assessment
  • Food and environmental allergy assessment
  • Heavy metal toxicity assessment
  • Nervous system function
  • Emotional, neurological, and neuro-emotional assessment
  • General lifestyle assessment
  • X-ray’s and lab analysis of blood, urine, saliva, or stool may also be necessary and will be determined per case.

Applied Kinesiology (the study of the function of your body and organs with relation to the function of your muscles) will be a tool utilized in the examination.

Through muscle testing we can determine the areas of dysfunction in your body in a totally non-invasive way. This technique is utilized to read sub-clinical disease in the body. It is not diagnostic in and of itself, however it gives us a starting point in bringing balance back to your body. Additional lab work will be recommended to determine a final diagnosis if necessary.

Muscle testing is based on various reflex points on your body, and the organ/muscle/emotion relationship that has been studied and utilized to treat for hundreds of thousands of years in Chinese and other Eastern societies. It is accurate and takes any guess work out of how to treat your body.

Following your initial examination

After the complete history and examination is completed, the doctor will examine your findings and prepare a review of findings for you. Dr. Hoffmann will then go over your review of finding with you on your next visit and explain which treatment plan will work best for your condition and why. She will observe your body to see how you respond to certain treatment options and fine tune the plan as necessary. At this point you will be on your way towards optimal health and vitality!

Re-examinations
Re-exams will be scheduled consistently according to your review of findings to continue to track your care so you get the best and most efficient results possible. These re-exams are designed to help the doctor make sure your treatment is going in the right direction or if a new plan needs to be designed. This may happen if you heal quicker or slower than expected.

Dr. Hoffmann truly wants to see that you get the best care possible for your health condition and that you get better! If she cannot help you, she will find someone who can!
